There might be a way to get into a locomotive and drive it, but I'll never know because I'm unwilling to drill a hole in my floor. The cute little gimmicky controls menu is allegedly sitting on a coffee table in the game, which is actually 4 feet below your sublfoor irl. Dont bother trying to pick stuff up if you drop it, and forget about the lost and found. It was a nice idea, but the devs just didn't bother actually making it work. I know this is early access, but in the year 2019, what game isn't? If this game becomes playable one day, I'll eat my words if I haven't forgotten about it.. Disappointing! Takes forever to load and close. Can't get the non-vr version to work. Multiple tries and I can't get the first cab switches to hi-lite much less work.. I honestly doubt there's a better locomotive simulation out there. This is exactly what I wished for when I was a kid, although nothing of the sort existed at the time. It could use a bit more content, but it's still early access, so that's expected (the roadmap is a nice touch). Non-VR mode works great as well. It was worth the full price for me. Go ahead and give the devs your support. I can't wait to see the finished product.. I work on the railroad and still come home and play this game. This game is amazing and the devs are doing a great job creating this world. I play this with keyboard and mouse. The devs are always working and bringing out patches. A lot of things could be added like showing the grades of the terrain on the map and having a positive and negative speed rate per minute guage in the engines. Can't wait to see the finished product when it happens.. its a good game with lots of potential. Of course they could use lots of improvements and a little more challenges and adding more equipment and more detail. Even though this game is stil in its early stages, its gradually making progress. Hotfix 17.09.27, and an update for non-US players: We just pushed hotfix 17.09.27 to steam. It just fixes a few of the most egregious bugs related to localization and saving/loading that were in 17.09.25.We have received over 200 crash reports already through our automated crash reporting service, and have gotten a ton of useful feedback on our github issues page:https://github.com/CompletelyFairGames/dwarfcorp/issuesWe will be fixing as many of these as possible in the coming weeks, starting this weekend.Also, we finally heard back from valve about the issues non US steam users were having. Somehow, our financial information had gotten messed up for several countries (Canada, New Zealand, Poland and a few others). Version 18.09.16: Hi everybody, we just posted a new version 18.09.16 to itch and Steam. This version contains mostly bugfixes, though there are a couple of new features. We’re stilling working on wrapping up development before we leave Early Access on October 31st.Palisades. New Version 18.08.19: We just pushed a new version to Steam and itch.io. This version is compatible with the previous version’s saves. There is one new feature in this build: having chats with your employees! There are also a couple of bugfixes. Bigger worlds on 32 bit hardware: In the last release of the unstable branch, a world size (called 'ram killer') was added without an announcement. This size is 80*80 chunks, or (at a default depth of 64) 104 million voxels. It's not actually possible to load that size world in the unstable branch because the memory needs of the geometry buffers used for rendering exceeds the limits of a 32 bit process.Well, that's no longer the case, and these worlds will be available in the unstable branch soon - and are expected to make it into the next official release. A bit of work we couldn't get done for the official release has finally paid off and now we can discard geometry for chunks not in view as needed, bringing the memory usage in the shot below back under 1 GB. We've also been experimenting with fog of war, and the possibility of not revealing the surface. This works quite well and has for a while, but was left out so far because it doesn't play well with slicing as you can see below. Also, it's a bit odd for a full 3d camera. Does this even make sense when, presumably, dwarves could see what's a fair distance away?. Just pushed a quick hotfix: We just pushed a quick hotfix to our previous build that fixes a couple of minor bugs, the most serious of which was a crash on the world generator screen caused by a missing font that wasn't uploaded to Steam. Also fixed a couple of crashes related to the Ordu/Elf Invasion quest.. Version 17.10.15, and some upcoming changes: On sunday we pushed a new build to Steam with some critical bugfixes and improvements to the UI. The build is not quite in the state we wanted it to be,so we will be pushing some more fixes within the next few days.
